thank you

Reward Your Staff

Rewarding staff for good work not only boosts their confidence, it also encourages more of the same attitude. However, sometimes putting a monetary value on a reward seems inappropriate, especially if they’ve done something that could be deemed priceless.

Often, people prefer the thought and effort that has gone into a gift more than its actual monetary value.

It’s the Small Things…

It doesn’t always take a grand gesture to have a big effect. Ask a closes colleague what their favourite chocolate is and leave a bar of it on their desk. Or, buy them something that brightens up their desk such as a colourful plant or photo frame.

Reward with Time…

Offer some well-deserved time-off. Time is the most precious commodity you could possibly give someone.

A Group Effort…

Sometimes it’s been a team effort that has had brilliant results, so picking only one person to reward seems unjust. Rewards could include a team building day out from the office. Alternatively arrange for someone to come in-house and provide massages or even group yoga. This is a fun and a hugely beneficial way to reward your staff for their hard work.

Take them with you…

This is a great choice for someone who you know is looking to make the next step up the career ladder. If a member of your team is looking for promotion, let them accompany you to meetings and appointments for the day or organise a couple of introductions to key customers. We can assure you that they will really appreciate you taking the time to “show them the ropes” because it demonstrates that you have great faith and fully support them.

A Grand Gesture…

Perhaps at the end of the year you wish to thank your team for their hard work throughout the past 12 months. Other than a traditional Christmas bonus, there are ways you can say a big thank you to everyone. You could organise an all-expenses paid winter ball and invite them to bring along a guest. Or, you could choose a luxury gift hamper for each member of staff.

We hope this has given you some inspiration. It truly is more about the thought that goes into the reward, rather than the value of it. And remember – rewarding staff increases their productivity, engagement and loyalty.
